Combining Academia and Industry at Azrieli College
The Academy-Industry conference in Memory of Uzi Wexler

1st Israeli Conference on Tribology and Biotribology, Jerusalem, October 29, 2024

Welcome to the Tribology and Biotribology Conference 2024, where the brightest minds from industry and academia come together to explore the latest advancements in tribology and biotribology. This conference is a unique opportunity to learn, share, and collaborate with experts, researchers, and practitioners

Tuesday | 29.10.2024 | 9:00
Azrieli College of Engineering

Ya’akov Shreibom, Jerusalem 26

Tribology is the multidisciplinary science and engineering of interacting surfaces in relative motion. It includes the study of friction, wear, and lubrication. Research in tribology is often highly dependent on the final application and plays a crucial role in understanding and controlling friction and wear in various mechanical systems and materials. Biotribology plays an important role in many aspects of our everyday life, from the functioning of articular joints and the comfort of contact lenses to the behavior of cells, skin, hair, and our food perception. Tribology and Biotribology are multidisciplinary fields that combine mechanics, materials, surface physics, biology, and medicine. The aim of the TriBio conference is to bring together Israeli researchers and Industry professionals from across the engineering, scientific, and clinical spectrums to promote communication across the different disciplines and to provide a platform for presenting new developments within a single meeting focused exclusively on tribology and biotribology.
